Instructions to Authors

Thank you for presenting at the 2017 National Planetarium Conference! 

The Conference Proceedings will contain texts of all invited and contributed papers, posters (may be briefer), and most workshops/panels/master courses.

You are required to submit a text of your oral or poster paper for the conference proceedings. This is provided by the Great Lakes Planetarium Association and will be used for its Conference Proceedings which will contain texts of all invited and contributed papers. If you are presenting a workshop/panel discussion/master course, you are encouraged to submit a text but are not required to do so (in recent years, nearly all presenters have submitted texts). The deadline for receipt of an electronic copy of your paper is Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

Electronic Paper Guidelines

Please submit your text to the Proceedings Editor in electronic form in Word format, as follows:

  Header information 
    The text must be preceded by the following information, in this order:

• title of paper
• your name
• institutional affiliation and mailing address
• e-mail address
• ABSTRACT, clearly marked as such

  PowerPoint Files

• You must submit a narrative text for the Proceedings.
• Your PowerPoint file cannot be used as your paper in the Proceedings.

  Figures

• Should be in .jpg or .gif format and include a caption in the text file.
• Send figures as separate files from your text, even if they also appear in your text file.
• Name the files in ways that make it easy for us to know what they are.

  Large Files!!!

• If any of your file sizes exceed 10 MB, do not send them as e-mail attachments. Send them on a flash drive or use an on-line file sharing site.
